DINING - History
1965. It all began with Alfred Schodlok.
The passionate farmer and adventurer from Namibia, together with his wife Ursula, discovered a place in Groß-Umstadt that reminded him of his African dream and eased his Wanderlust. He found the distant views and expanse that had already enchanted him in Africa. Today, the Farmerhaus is run by the second generation of the family: Alexander and Monika Schodlok.
Over the many years, it has become a culinary institution, each evening enchanting guests drawn by the restaurant's inviting reputation. Awards and countless critics confirm that the Farmerhaus is more than an insider tip: it is a genuine must for any connoisseur.
Once you have discovered it, you simply can't help but forever feel a magical gastronomical attraction for it.
